At PsychCentral, an interview with Jon Kabat-Zinn about mindfulness, MBSR, and his coming talk at UCLA, Wednesday, Oct. 6.
Elisha: What does a daily mindfulness practice for someone as busy as you, look like?
Jon: (Laughing) Well, what it looks like is my life. Because, basically what it all boils down to is, as I find myself saying it quite frequently, the real meditation practice is life itself. So it’s not taking periods of time and sitting in some particular way or other, although that is a very important part of it. There are many different aspects to a formal meditation practice. But the real meditation practice is how you interface with life from moment-to-moment, no matter what’s happening.
