Anxiety L.A. Privacy Policy

Effective September 5, 2026

Anxiety L.A. (anxietyla.com) is operated by Ballpoint Labs, LLC, a California limited liability company.

The site does two things: it publishes articles about anxiety, and it lists licensed professionals who advertise here. What we collect depends on which of those brought you.

Site visitors

Information we collect

We do not ask visitors to identify themselves, create an account, or provide personal information. There is no visitor account, sign-up, or matching questionnaire. Listed professionals may submit information through the therapist application and listing-management flows. Visitors contact listed professionals directly using the contact information or website provided on the profile.

The only information recorded about a visit is the listing metrics described below and the standard server logs described further down. We use no third-party analytics service, no tag manager, no advertising pixel, and no behavioral tracking of any kind.

Listing metrics

So that listed professionals can assess whether their listing is producing anything, the site counts taps or clicks on the website, phone, and email contact elements on a profile.

We record that a click or tap occurred, which profile it occurred on, and which contact element it was. We do not record who did it. A tap on a phone number is not evidence that a call was placed or answered, and a tap on an email address is not evidence that a message was sent — we record the tap and nothing further.

We receive no information about what happens after a visitor leaves a profile. We do not know whether a call was connected, whether an email was sent, whether an appointment was booked, or whether a clinical relationship followed, and we have no access to any communication between a visitor and a listed professional.

Practices we do not engage in

The subject matter makes this worth stating explicitly. We do not use:

  • Advertising trackers or retargeting pixels. No Meta pixel, no Google Ads tag, no data brokers. Reading this site will not cause you to see advertising elsewhere.
  • Sale or sharing of personal information. Not for money, not for other consideration, and not for cross-context behavioral advertising.
  • Fingerprinting or any other attempt to identify visitors across sites or sessions.
  • Third-party analytics that construct profiles of visitors.

Cookies

The site uses first-party cookies for functional purposes: maintaining a stable randomized listing order during browsing, operator authentication, therapist listing-management sessions, and invitation flows. These cookies are not used for advertising, behavioral profiling, or cross-site tracking.

Service providers

Operating a website requires infrastructure, and certain providers necessarily process technical data. These providers are used to operate the service, not for advertising or behavioral profiling.

  • Vercel — hosting. Serves every page and records the server logs described below.
  • Supabase — database and image hosting. Postgres for listing data, and object storage for therapist photographs. Photographs are served to your browser directly from Supabase, so loading a profile page makes a request to their servers. We do not use Supabase authentication.
  • Stripe — payment processing, listed professionals only.
  • Resend — email delivery to listed professionals.

Server logs

Our host records standard technical information — including IP address, browser information, requested page, and time — as part of operating and securing the site. We do not use these logs to identify visitors, build profiles, or track individuals across visits. Our host retains this information according to its applicable retention practices.

Listed professionals

Information in this section is provided to us deliberately, for the purpose of publication.

Information we publish

Name, pronouns, credentials, license number and licensing board, photograph, practice name, neighborhood, website, any phone number or email address selected for publication, headline, practice descriptions, education, year of first practice, selected approaches and concerns, age groups served, in-person and telehealth availability, fees, sliding-scale availability, and insurance information.

Information we hold but do not publish

Street address, where it is not part of the public listing, and correspondence or other contact information provided for administering a listing but not selected for publication, and the listed professional's certification that they maintain professional liability insurance.

We also record a one-way hash of the IP address a submission originated from, with a timestamp, to limit the number of applications a single source can send in an hour. It is not linked to the listing and cannot be reversed to an address.

License information

We may check license information provided by a listed professional against publicly available licensing-board records. We do not continuously monitor license status or display a verification badge or other representation that a license is current as of the present day.

Payment

Payments are processed by Stripe. Card details are transmitted to Stripe and not to us; we never see or store them. We retain a Stripe customer reference, subscription status, and billing dates. Stripe's handling of payment information is governed by Stripe's privacy policy.

Listing metrics for listed professionals

We record taps or clicks on published contact elements — website link, phone number, and email address. These are the same events described in the visitor section above, and they involve no visitor identification.

Retention and end of term

While a listing is published, we retain the associated information.

On request to remove a listing, the page is taken down and the URL stops resolving.

If a term ends without renewal, the listing is removed from browse pages, filters, and search results, and we instruct search engines not to index it. The profile page continues to resolve at its URL, displaying name, credentials, license number, practice details, and description, with the outbound website link removed and other nearby professionals shown alongside. This arrangement exists so that a listing can be reactivated in a single step. It persists until removal is requested, which may be done at any time.

On request, we will delete listing information, except for records we are required or entitled to retain for legal, tax, accounting, fraud-prevention, or other legitimate business purposes.

How we use information

We use information collected through the site to operate, maintain, and secure the service; publish and administer professional listings; verify license information; communicate with listed professionals; process payments and manage subscriptions; prevent fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access; comply with legal obligations; and enforce our agreements.

How we disclose information

We disclose information to the service providers identified above, which perform functions on our behalf including hosting, database services, payment processing, and email delivery.

Information a listed professional selects for publication is disclosed publicly on that professional's profile.

We may also disclose information where required by law, to protect the rights or security of Anxiety L.A., Ballpoint Labs, our users, or others, or in connection with a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of all or part of the business.

We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

No clinical relationship

Anxiety L.A. does not provide therapy, medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. No user of this site is our patient or client, and we have no clinical relationship with anyone.

We have no means of knowing whether a visitor contacted a listed professional or became their client. Contact with a listed professional occurs directly between the visitor and that professional, and we receive no information about what follows. Any resulting clinical relationship is between those parties and is governed by that professional's own legal and professional obligations.

Reading an article or viewing a profile creates no clinical relationship and no record of one.

Minors

This site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. Some listed professionals work with minors; arranging care for a minor occurs directly with that professional and not through this site.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update the effective date and, for material changes affecting listed professionals, notify them by email. Any expansion of what we collect from visitors beyond what is described here will be disclosed prominently rather than by silent edit.
