About
If you are feeling depressed, anxious, or simply overwhelmed, working with an experienced and skilled therapist can be enormously helpful. Depression, anxiety, relationships, family issues, self-esteem, and trauma, are some of the issues I help clients with.
I also help clients examine their more challenging thoughts and feelings, with compassion and psychological insight, to help restore a sense of well-being. I utilize mindfulness techniques to examine sub-conscious assumptions and feelings. By becoming more aware of these assumptions and feelings, we can begin to reduce negative patterns and thinking.
I completed a psychodynamic post-graduate program at the National Institute for the Psychotherapies in NYC, and I have been licensed to provide psychotherapy in California since 2005.
I am also certified in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) in the state of California. In addition to private practice, I have 12 years of experience providing training and supervision to therapists and graduate students.
Areas I work with

Approach
I utilize insight-oriented therapies, CBT, Cognitive Processing Therapy, Internal Families Systems, and concepts of Buddhism, depending on your needs. The psychodynamic “insight-oriented” approach is often the effective treatment of choice for clients who want to work on relationship patterns, life transitions, family dynamics, cultural /identity issues, and greater self-understanding.
Cognitive Behavioral therapies are effective for shorter term relief from symptoms associated with depression, anxiety, panic attacks, and phobias.
Please feel free to reach out if you have questions about my approach.
